And here's exactly how she got it.
Sometimes the "less is more" approach is the route to go. Just take a cue from Nicole Kidman who used the biggest night for the movie industry to make her glam as effortlessly chic as possible.
"Nicole is so fun to get ready with; it’s always an upbeat, high energy, collaborative environment. She’s a classic beauty [who] can pull off anything," celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan tells InStyle exclusively of working with Kidman for the big night. It's a collaborative endeavor, says Deenihan who worked closely with Kidman's stylist Julia Von Boehm and hairstylist Adir Abergel to bounce ideas back and forth to see what looks would go best with her one shoulder Armani gown.
The end result they decided on is a French-inspired soft glam. Deenihan started by prepping Kidman's skin for hydration and brightness with the Seratopical Revolution DNA Complex and Freedom Day & Night Moisturizer. Next, Deenihan used the Sisley-Paris Phyto-Teint Nude Foundation in shade 1N Ivory for coverage and the Phyto-Poudre Compacte in Sandy for slight definition. To give the eyes a pretty shimmer, she swept Les Phyto-Ombres in Silky Rose and Mat Taupe across the lids. And it's not soft glam without the classic nude lip, which she achieved through the Phyto-Lip Twist in Nude. Understated and simple, yet elegant — just as Kidman always is.
For Kidman's long blonde hair, Abergel didn't do much to it. He used the Virtue Labs Volumizing Primer and the T3 1.5 inch curling iron from the Wave Trio to get those slight waves and kept Kidman's hair looking effortless.
The vibes behind the scenes while Kidman was getting ready is as light and fun as her makeup look. But don't expect to see any vids of it on everyone's favorite clock app. "We definitely love taking some beautiful glam photos before she walks out the door. Time will tell if those end up in a Tiktok," she says. "social media is definitely a fun avenue to show the world a little behind the scenes into what it’s really like to get ready for Hollywood's big night."
